Week 13: Studio Work and Videography
Studio Interview
To come to a close (in the light of the epidemic) the month did however, end on a positive. We got our first interview set and recorded. Couldn't go live at this stage as it was too early on and we wanted to trial it out first. The radio station was kind enough to let us use their facility for free. Equipment, editing, and support of the works! With the exception of: we had to purchase a wide angle lense for our smart phone to capture the studio during recording. Then all we had to do was bring our good self along with our guest. Interview requests were sent out and the first confirmed email accepted. Such a delight when people want to get involved, have their say and help each other out. As an appreciation towards our guest we did buy him a drink and have offered to help him with any property guidance, should he need our help. We have now short-listed a few more attendees to inspire us with their wisdom and hopefully bring some clarity to the subject matter discussed. Property investing is not all about damp walls and number crunching; it's a people business and so varied and vivid. Looking forward to meeting these great people who will add color and texture to my journey.
Video Sting
Property is so fun, honestly the amount of different things you have to do. No two days are the same. Depending on your strategy you could be doing something completely different to the next investor. Bearing this in mind we are trying to implement Vlogging into the repertoire by documenting some juicy bits on camera. Just getting ready for when the first deal comes through then one can document the process and know-how. For this we have opted for a YouTube Channel as it's free and simple enough to operate and of course so popular. Next (the best bit) a video sting or logo animation/intro, as they are known by! We spoke to our media girl who sent a few examples to look at and spoke to other digital industry friends who were kind enough to pass on some very glossy content. Problem was that they were all so good, what do you go for??
You're practically spoilt for choices. In the end we went for a rather swish full theatrics version of our logo in black, gold and white (our colours). There were a few setbacks along the way as the first person we chose to carry out the work could not deliver. He was too slow in responding back, wouldn’t keep us in the loop, then when we asked him how much it would cost kept dodging the question. It was very strange, you're providing a service why not say how much you're charging?? I mean, I wouldn't want any nasty surprises. Plus I needed to see if our budget can allow this. Anyway, we found this person to be unprofessional and decided to go for another. This is the beauty about property investing you are not forced to work with anyone you don't resonate with. It's not all about the bricks and mortar but choices one has.
Second girl was fantastic so prompt and efficient but was having difficulties with their video editing software as systems were down. We lost an entire week but hey, it is what it is and she was kind enough to update us all the time so we were never left in the unknown. This cost us £104 to make and a further £20 to buy the licence for the music. In total £124, but we are very happy customers and I can strongly recommend this person if you want your branding done. ‘Rohini Videography’, word of mouth advertising as a client. I'm not going to mention the other guy as I don't really want to slander someone's livelihood but yeh only go for the service provider you are happy and comfortable with and be sure to check out our first Vlog (including the sting lol), coming very soon! Can't wait….
Happy Branding!
